Yenepoya Mohamed Kunhi is associated with several social and cultural organizations.
He was nominated to the Board of Trade for the Promotion of Exports under the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India. He has also served as Director of Karnataka Forest Development Corporation and as a Member of District Flood Relief Committee.  He was also held office as a Chairman of District Wakf Committee during the period 1991-96.
Presently, he is the Vice President of Bharath Scouts and Guides and Member of the Central Muslim Committee.  He is also the Treasurer of Muslim Education Association, Mangalore.
In the year 2000, he was once again nominated as the Chairman of the District Wakf Committee by the Government of Karnataka.

Owner of Yenepoya Saw Mills, Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi also holds office as Managing Director, Kanara Wood & Plywood Industries Ltd; Chairman, Yenepoya Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Pvt. Ltd.; and Chairman of the Islamic Academy of Education (Regd.) – an educational trust running the Yenepoya educational institutions. More recently, he has taken on the mantle of Chancellor – Yenepoya University, which came into being this year, 2008.
He also holds the portfolio of the Vice President of Badria Educational Institution, Vice Chairman of the Islamic Trust and Trustee of the P.A. Educational Trust.  He is also the Ex-Director of Air India Ltd. & Indian Airlines Ltd.
Y Abdulla Kunhi is a proud recipient of the coveted Karnataka Rajyotsava Award – 1992 for yeomen service rendered in the fields of industry, education & social service.
He is also a recipient of Outstanding Manager Award from Mangalore Management Association for the year 2006, and the New Year Award – 2008, organized jointly by The Academy of General Education, Manipal; The Rotary Club of Udupi, Manipal and The Syndicate Bank, Manipal.
On the social front Y Abdulla Kunhi is an active member of the Lions Club of Mangalore.
